Repairing ZIP file corrupted by improper downloading

A lot of you must have used the file compression tool to import several files and folders to a single file. It enables you to save enormous amount of disk space and transfer the compressed files through the cyberspace without the fear of getting infected by a virus or malware. The most popular form of compressing data is to convert it into ZIP files. This form of data compression is used extensively both by home users as well as professional users. To use a zipped file, you need to extract the ZIP files at any selected location. However, sometimes the ZIP file may get corrupt due to various reasons. In such cases, you should try appropriate measures to resolve the issue. However, if you are unable to workaround the problem then you should use a third-party ZIP repair software to repair ZIP file and extract all of its contents.

Consider a scenario wherein you have downloaded a zipped file from the Internet. After downloading it, you try to extract data from the ZIP file, but are unable to do so. An error message is displayed, that is:

After encountering this error message, you are unable to extract the data from the zipped file and it becomes inaccessible.

Cause:
The cause of this error message is that the ZIP file has corrupted. It would have corrupted because of various reasons such as interrupted or improper download, missing parity bit, CRC errors, human errors, etc.

Resolution:
To resolve this situation, you should download the file from the Internet again. However, there may be chances that you do not have internet connection at that particular moment. In such cases, you should use a third-party ZIP recovery software to address the situation. Such read-only tools are highly interactive and repair ZIP file by extracting its content into a new ZIP file without overwriting the original contents.
