Transfer Error While downloading a Zip file

Often, when you encounter an error message while accessing a Zip file, it means that the Zip file is corrupted or damaged. Whenever a zip file is corrupted, it effects either all the files or one particular file saved in the zip file. While the reasons for corruption of a zip file can be many, the most common remains the transfer error during the downloading process of Zip file from the Internet. To access the files saved in the Zip folder after it gets corrupted, you will need to download the file again from the Internet. However, if no such option is available, and with inaccessibility of backup, the only option left is to repair the corrupted Zip file by using an effective third-party Zip Repair application.

To illustrate the above case, consider a practical scenario where you download a particular Zip file from the Internet. However, when you try to open the downloaded Zip file, you receive the below error message:

“The installation package could not be opened”

After the above error message appears, the files saved in the Zip file cannot be extracted. In addition, the same error message appears every time you attempt to open the Zip file.

Cause:
The root cause for the occurrence of the error message is corruption of zip file. Few main causes for corruption are transfer error during downloading, and exposure of storage media to cross linked hard disk sectors, excess magnetic fields and temperature.

Resolution:
To resolve the above error message and to access the data, you will need to try to download another copy of the Zip file. However, if no copy of that file is available, then you need to use effective Zip Repair application to repair zip file.

These easy-to-install tools are readily available on the Internet and are competent enough to Repair Zip files post any logical crash. Not only these applications allow you to restore the repaired file at specified location, but also ensure that the original file remains unmodified and untouched.
